Conveyancing Foundation’s Charity Grant Scheme Donates £2000 to the Aconveyancing ‘It’s A Knockout’ Event in Aid of Samuel’s Promise Taking the Total to Over £5000
Aconveyancing raise over £5000 for ‘Samuel’s Promise’, funding research into low-grade brain tumours.
Last week 20 teams from across the Conveyancing industry joined together to take on the ‘It’s A Knockout’ combat challenge in Atherstone, Midlands. Organised by Aconveyancing, the charity event raised over £5000 for ‘Samuel’s Promise’ a special named fund of the CCLG. We are grateful to have been able to contribute to this impactful initiative through our Charity Grants Scheme, providing ‘Samuel’s Promise’ with a £2000 grant.
The Conveyancing Foundation team, Convey Charity Crusaders, went head-to-head on an inflatable-style combat course against teams from Armalytix, Groundsure, LMS, Veya, Coadjute, Access Legal Bricks, Dual Asset, ASAP, Samuel’s Promise, SortGroup, Post Partner, Aconveyancing, Redbrick Solutions and BLJ Solicitors, with Samuel’s friends coming in first and taking home the trophy! Convey Charity Crusaders secured 4th place up against some tough competition.
Samuel’s Promise
‘Samuels Promise’ was founded by the family of Samuel, an extraordinary 18-year-old who bravely battled a brain tumour since the age of 14. In memory of Samuel, the charity raises funds for research into low-grade brain tumours and surgical advancements. Despite enduring multiple surgeries and treatments, Samuel’s tumour became inoperable, leading to his passing in February 2022.
His family established the ‘Samuels Promise’ fund to support young people and families facing similar challenges, aiming to provide effective treatment options and hope for those diagnosed with low-grade brain tumours. Through compassion and dedication, ‘Samuels Promise’ continues Samuel’s legacy, making a difference for children in their fight against this challenging disease.
Samuel was a friend of Aconveyancing, which is why they regularly support and raise funds for Samuel’s Promise.
What is the Charity Grant Scheme?
First launched at the beginning of 2023, the Foundation’s innovative Charity Grants Scheme was created to provide individuals in the conveyancing industry with an opportunity to secure grant funding of up to £2,000 for their chosen charitable endeavours.
The Foundation has raised almost £1 million for charity since its launch in 2010, which has helped to support deserving causes and charities of all sizes, including Cancer Research UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice and Many Tears Animal Rescue, to name just a few.
Katharine Saunders from Aconveyancing, who nominated Samuels Promise for the Grant, was delighted to receive the news from the Conveyancing Foundation, commending its innovative scheme for setting high standards of charitable work across the property industry.
Katharine said: “Our first fundraising and networking day was hugely boosted by the support of The Conveyancing Foundation. Our charity partner, Samuel’s Promise, is a cause close to the hearts of Aconveyancing staff and every single penny raised goes towards crucial research into paediatric brain tumour research.
The day was planned to both raise money for an important cause and bring together industry colleagues – something which the foundation fully supported. The team there were so brilliant to work with and we’d jump at the chance to work with them again.”
