Please use the following Gift Aid Declaration which will need to form part of your terms and conditions of business and will need to be signed by every client entering the competition.

Gift Aid Declaration – Free Legal Fee Competition

I/We confirm that we wish to pay £1.00 to enter the monthly Conveyancing Foundation Free Legal Fee Competition for an opportunity to win £500.00. I/We also wish to make a donation of £9.00 to The Conveyancing Foundation (Registered Charity no. 1161310) – “The Foundation”. I/we have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for the current tax year to allow the Foundation to reclaim 25p of Gift Aid on every £1.00 donated.


The following Terms and Conditions of the competition will need to be added to your terms and conditions of instruction.

Terms and Conditions – Conveyancing Foundation Charity – Free Legal Fee Competition

All of our clients have the opportunity to enter into the Conveyancing Foundation Charity Free Legal Fee Competition, which is designed to generate revenue for our favourite charities and to offer you the opportunity to experience a free conveyancing service. The Free Legal Fee Competition has helped to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity over recent years and your contribution will be gratefully received.

The Conveyancing Foundation nominates worthwhile charities and causes over the course of the year. Please refer to the Conveyancing Foundation Free Legal Fee Flyer or access the website at www.conveyancingfoundation.org.uk for additional information in relation to these incredible charities. Our chosen charity is [insert chosen charity name here].

How it works:

You enter the monthly Competition upon completion of your property transaction.

The Competition winner is announced at the start of each month in respect of the previous month’s entries

The winner’s basic legal fees, up to a maximum of £500.00, are reimbursed by the Conveyancing Foundation.

Your donation helps to raise thousands of pounds for wonderful charities.

Please note that you may opt in or out of the competition at any time, up to the date of completion of your transaction, by providing us with your instructions in this respect.

Should you win the competition then you will not pay for the Basic Legal Fees associated with your sale, purchase or remortgage transaction, up to a maximum of £500.00 inclusive of VAT. Please note that all disbursements and additional legal fees, associated with your transaction will be payable in any event. Telegraphic transfer charges will also be payable. The competition applies to one transaction only and so the fees on sale and purchase transactions will only be reimbursed on the appropriate individual transaction.

The cost of entering the Conveyancing Foundation Free Legal Fee Competition is £1.00. We also request that you consider making a donation to The Conveyancing Foundation (Registered Charity no.116130) of £9.00 at the same time. The £9.00 charity donation will also attract gift aid at 25%, making a total charitable donation of £11.25. To claim Gift Aid you will need to confirm that you wish to make a donation to the Conveyancing Charity Foundation. You will need to also confirm that you are a UK taxpayer and have paid an amount of Income Tax / Capital Gains Tax that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the Charity and CASC organisations that you donate to will reclaim on your donations for the current tax year. Confirm that you understand that the charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1.00 that you have donated.

We may need to use your details if you win the competition to help promote our nominated charities and the Conveyancing Foundation Free Legal Fee Competition to other clients and our business contacts. By entering the competition you are consenting to us promoting you winning the competition and providing the Conveyancing Foundation with your details and contact information in order to facilitate the collection of Gift Aid on your donation.
