The Conveyancing Foundation, in partnership with its charitable partners, proudly contributed a £250 grant to Simon David at Thomas Legal. Simon ran the Cheltenham Half Marathon in September to raise funds for Kambia District Foundation.
The Foundation’s Charity Grant Scheme launched in 2023, aims to support charity initiatives driven by those working in the conveyancing industry. The scheme offers grant funding of up to £2,000 to boost fundraising efforts for the chosen charities.
The Charity Grant Scheme is open to anyone in the property industry taking part in an event or challenge for a charity close to their hearts.
Through the generous contributions of its Partners, the Foundation awards Charity Grants to individuals who are committed to making a difference. Together, these efforts create meaningful change, improving the lives of those in need.
Charity Grant Recipient: Simon David, Thomas Legal
Fundraising Challenge: Raise the Roof with Simon and Jen
Charity: Kambia District Foundation
Simon from Thomas Legal took on the Cheltenham Half Marathon to support the Kambia District Foundation in raising funds to replace the roof at their school in Sierra Leone. The Kambia District Foundation works in Sierra Leone to improve access to free education for children by building primary and secondary schools. The charity also supports local community projects where possible to help self-generate income, primarily working in the Kambia district of the country.
Having successfully completed the marathon in 2 hours and 24 minutes, Simon’s efforts helped the team to exceeded their fundraising target by 112%, raising an incredible £1,690!
Jess Smith, Trustee and COO of the Conveyancing Foundation, expressed her praise and congratulations sharing:
“We were incredibly delighted to support Simon in his fundraising challenge for the Kambia District Foundation. Taking on the Cheltenham Half Marathon to raise funds for such a meaningful cause is truly inspiring. His determination and dedication to improving education in Sierra Leone is making a real difference, and we were thrilled to support their efforts and incredible fundraising achievements.”
