We run a number of events every year in order to engage with the conveyancing community and our chosen charities. In the event that you would like to promote an event or to join us on one of our events, please do not hesitate to contact us.
The Conveyancing Foundation was established by conveyancers to help conveyancers, and others in the property industry, to raise funds for their chosen charities.
This year, we are looking raise £50,000.00 for the Children with Cancer UK charity by Christmas 2016.
Children with Cancer UK is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. Over 2,500 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK – that’s over 6 children every day. Sadly cancer is still the most common medical cause of death beyond infancy in children and young people in the UK and accounts for one in every five deaths. Children with Cancer UK conducts research into prevention of the disease and treatment as well as providing assistance with welfare for children with cancer.
Please help us to raise funds for this fantastic cause.
The Magic Moments Cardiff to Colchester Cycle Ride – 21st-23rd April 2016
Eight members took part in this charity bike ride departing from Cardiff Castle to Colchester. Five members completed the first 65-mile leg from Cardiff to Bath, whilst the other three members continued their journey to Colchester – a grueling 254 miles!
The ride was in aid of Magic Moments – a charity established by the Spicerhaart Estate Agency chain over 10 years ago with the objective of taking terminally ill children and their families on a holiday of a lifetime to Disneyland Paris, which they would not otherwise enjoy.
As a result of the cycle ride, Magic Moments raised over £75,000! This sum of money will help to take 35 terminally ill children and their families to Disneyland Paris on a trip of a lifetime!
Chairman of the Conveyancing Foundation, Lloyd Davies, said:
“Everyone at the Conveyancing Foundation was delighted to take part in such a wonderful event. Thank you to all the cyclists for your friendship and encouragement throughout the three days. It was tough but we had an absolute blast at the same time.”
Rob Hosier, Geraint Aubrey, George Shirlaw and Rory Brown will all be representing the Conveyancing Foundation in cycling from Cardiff to Dublin to watch Wales beat Ireland starting on the 4th February and arriving in time to watch the match. Their quest is to raise over £10,000 for the Shelter Housing Charity.
Having conquered three massive mountains in the Alps in 2014 and raising over £15,000.00 for Cancer Research UK, in 2015 Convey Law Conveyancer, Geraint Aubrey undertook the Matterhorn Challenge and helped us to raise over £50,000.00 for the Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice and to join the whole of the conveyancing industry in a fund raising initiative as a prelude to the launch of the Conveyancing Foundation. The Challenge was designed to raise awareness of our ability to raise funds for those less fortunate than ourselves and to promote our “Conveyancing for Charity” initiative. Thank you to our sponsors, supporters and those that donated to assist with this inspirational Challenge.
