Convey Law & The Conveyancing Foundation Trek The Great Wall of China For Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice
Three members of Convey Law and The Conveyancing Foundation have returned from China after an exhausting 7-day trip to walk a section of the Great Wall of China. Lloyd (Managing Director) endured an incredibly difficult challenge walking in temperatures in excess of 30 degrees throughout the adventure. They were raising money through The Conveyancing Foundation for the Ty Hafan Children Hospice.
All three trekkers helped create The Conveyancing Foundation whilst Convey Law were the first practice to raise funds through The Conveyancing Foundation Charity Lotto.
The trek consisted of the following:-
Day 1
A 3 hour trek from Tiapingzhai to Huangyaeuan.
Day 2
A 9 hour trek along the stunning Gueeikou section of the wall which covered 27 watch towers!
Day 3
Far from the tourist trail they were trekking for another 9 hours from Jinshanling to Sinatai.
Day 4
They conquered the 1,000 steps making up the Heavenly Ladder with 7 hours of trekking along the Mutianyu section.
Day 5
They spent the morning repairing a watch tower on the Badaling section of the wall and after lunch they continued trekking for a further 7 hours.
Our intrepid adventurers’ biggest achievement was raising an incredible £12,000.00, whilst the group as a whole raised in excess of £75,000.00!
The success of their feat has not been underestimated, not only did they complete some of the toughest terrain in the world, they also raised such an amazing amount for a very worthwhile charity, Ty Hafan.
Members of staff at Convey Law held a dress down day in their honour whilst they were away to help boost the fundraising total. Upon their return everyone was glad to see them arrive safe and well and they have rightly been awarded the Team of the Month Award!
Lloyd Davies commented:
“It was exhausting and a complete physical challenge, but incredibly rewarding. The Great Wall of China is an engineering marvel and walking with such a great group of people and my daughters made the expedition a remarkable and rewarding experience. The Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice is such a great charity and to raise £75,000 was a fantastic achievement by everyone that took part. Well done to the Ty Hafan Trekkers!!”
